- Enjoying surround sound (sound mode) -
Notes:
z When monaural signals are received in the multi channel mode, only the center
speaker and subwoofer produce sound.
z When you play Dolby Digital or DTS sound with "STADIUM" or "HALL" set, sur-
round is automatically set to "STANDARD".
Listening to 2 channel stereo sounds
Notes:
z When the surround mode is set to "STEREO" or "VIRTUAL", the same monaural
sound is reproduced in the both of the right and left channels.
z Some discs are recorded at 96 kHz of sampling frequency. When this type of disc
is played, the sound mode is changed to "STEREO" automatically. The sound
mode cannot be changed during playback.
2 channel stereo sound (CD, videotapes, etc.)
While the disc is playing, press the MULTI-CH button.
Example: 2-ch stereo sound
Dolby Pro Logic converts 2 channel
stereo sound of CDs, etc. to 5.1 chan-
nel.
When you press once, the last used setting appears. To change it, press the button
repeatedly within 3 seconds.
STANDARD: You can enjoy the original sound as it is.
MOVIE: The bass level is increased for powerful sound effect.
MUSIC: You can enjoy lively sound by producing the articulate sound.
NIGHT: Soft but powerful sound is achieved even at low volumes.
STADIUM: You feel like one of the audience in a stadium.
HALL: A concert hall atmosphere is created.

You can enjoy 2 channel stereo sound.
When you press once, the last used setting appears. To change it, press the button
repeatedly within 3 seconds.
STEREO: You can enjoy the great acoustic effects of the front speakers and
subwoofer.
VIRTUAL: Although the surround speaker does not work, you can enjoy spa-
cious surround effects.
