Lead Fail Test
Perform the lead fail test as follows:
Connect the patient cable to a simulator or a shorting bar. Disconnect one lead at a time from the simulator or
shorting bar and verify that the correct lead fail message appears on the LCD while in the Main Menu screen. Only
the message for the disconnected lead should appear as shown below.

V1 LEAD V1 OFF
V2 LEAD V2 OFF
V3 LEAD V3 OFF
V4 LEAD V4OFF

All Leads off LEADS OFF
Transmitting Records
You may transmit ECGs from the ELI 250/210 to another Mortara Instrument electrocardiograph or to an E-Scribe
Data Management System using a direct connection or an optional factory installed internal modem.
Before transmitting ECGs to E-Scribe, the site number must be defined as well as the telephone number in the
configuration.
NOTE: Telephone transmission is available with modem option only.
To transmit records (either to another cardiograph or to E-Scribe), select the XMT Key
. The following
screen is displayed:
To batch transmit of all records in the directory, select F1 (Batch). If a batch transmission is selected, only those
records which have not been previously transmitted or marked deleted will be transmitted.
An ECG may be listed in the directory but have a “deleted status” (indicated by “X”). The directory saves those
records that have been marked for deletion in the event that you may want to recover the ECG at a later time. All
