FOR SMALL BUILDING WORKS
REFERENCE TEXT 2009
REFERENCE: Read this Standard Specication in conjunction with the Project Specic Requirements
and Drawings if any. Only those parts of the Standard Specication which refer to the works being
carried out apply. This document may be used as a blanket reference specication referring generally
to the standards of materials and workmanship required by the Department for small building works
including services and landscape.
PROJECT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
The selection of specic items or materials for the works being carried out are specied in the Project
Specic Requirements or shown as notes on the drawings.
OR
There are no separate project specic requirements in this specication. For specic items or
materials for the works being carried out, refer to the drawings or extent of work if any.
PRECEDENCE: Any provision in the project specication or on the project drawings shall override
any conicting provision in the Standard Specication.
CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR: If the revised Conditions of Contract are introduced into DPI, this
will incorporate a change in title from Superintendent to Contract Administrator. When working within
the new Conditions of Contract substitute the title ‘Contract Administratorin all cases where the
Superintendent is referenced in this standard specication.
HOLD & WITNESS POINTS: These apply whether quality assurance is included in this project or
not. Refer to the denitions of hold points and witness points in the general requirements section of
this reference specication.
SITE COPY: Retain a copy of this document on site for the duration of the works.
