AQUOS® Blu-ray Disc™ Player
The BD-HP70U has an anti-vibration chassis design, grounded high-grade AC power cord, Hi-Fi audio grade capacitors
and gold-plated terminals. This type of high end design points reduces vibration and laser data reading, thus
providing cleaner audio and video output. The BD-HP70U also has a center loading tray. The BD-HP70U provides a
high quality audio and video output with true to the original audio and video fidelity giving the audio a warm audio
tube type amplifier sound. The BD-HP70 also has low power consumption overall in both operation mode and
standby modes and Netflix movie streaming.
Features:
RS232 Control The RS232 port allows advanced remote-controlled
operation of the player and other AV equipment for a home theater
or whole house control from a central location.
HDMI™ Output Simple One Cable Connection A one cable connection
carries complete digital audio and video connection between your HDTV
and the BD-HP70U player for the best high definition video and the
highest fidelity audio in home theater today. Blu-ray Disc™ technology
brings the multiplex experience right to your home.
Full HD Resolution An Amazing Home Theater Experience in the
Comfort of Your Home The Blu-ray Disc™ format has full 1080p
resolution capability that’s the maximum picture resolution available
today. 1080p = 1,080 lines of vertical resolution, progressively scanned.
High Fidelity Audio – Real Life-Like Sound Blu-ray technology lets
you take advantage of the latest surround sound formats such as
Dolby® TrueHD™. This means you will enjoy high quality lossless 7.1
Channel digital surround (48kHz/96kHz) that is bit for bit the
equivalent of a master recording.
HDMI™ Up-scaling – Backwards Compatible Even your existing
standard definition DVD library can look better than ever because
Blu-ray Disc™ players are backwards compatible with your DVDs. By
optimizing standard DVD playback signals (when displayed on a
1080p capable HDTV with HDMI technology), the BD-HP70U can
deliver enhanced picture and sound quality.
JPEG Viewing Digital images recorded onto a CD-RW/R or a USB
memory drive can be viewed in a slideshow format on screen,
delivering both still and video images for greater versatility.
Netflix Movie Streaming
The Blu-ray player BD-HP70U has Netflix
streaming software embedded directly in the player, requiring no
external device. Netflix service will display a library of movies and TV
episodes that Netflix members can watch instantly with Ethernet
connectivity. NetFlix also provides DVD or Blu-ray disc service via
mail delivery with the membership, both instant movie watching
and in hand disc rental.
Netflix unlimited membership is required.
AQUOS LINK™ Function Seamless Operation among Sharp
Audio Video Products with One Remote Control Why use two
remotes when you can use one? The AQUOS LINK™ function allows
you to control both your AQUOS LCD TV and your AQUOS Blu-ray
Disc™ Player together. When you connect your AQUOS LCD TV to the
Blu-ray Disc™ Player via an HDMI™ connection, you will have seamless
interoperability between your AQUOS LCD TV and BD-HP70U Blu-ray
Disc™ Player. In addition, other manufacturing display remotes can be
used to control the player also.

BD Live 2.0 Profile provides consumers access to a wide variety of
available real-time content via a network connection, such as movie
scene extras, new previews, games, chat and more. The Bonus View
function provides access to picture-in-picture special features,
allowing users to simultaneously watch their favorite movie scenes
and added bonus features on compatible disc.
AVCHD a format for recording and playback of high definition
video. Video is compressed in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, and audio
is recorded in Dolby Digital. This is becoming a common HD
camcorder video format in use by many consumers.
Wireless Lan The BD-HP70U allows wireless connection to a user's
network to view content via a WiFi connection. For services like
Netflix, You Tube, BD-Liive content with no wires to convert to the
Blu-ray player.
