Searching for and Playing Back a Scene
Near the One Currently Being Played Back
1 During playback, press the Forward
Search (w) (or Reverse Search [+r])
button. The fast forward (or reverse)
playback picture is displayed on-screen.
This function makes it possible to freeze the
picture. Press the STILL button ( DH) during
playback. To return to normal playback, press
the STILL button once again, or press the PLAY
button ( b).
2 When you find the desired scene, press
the PLAY button (b) to return to normal
playback.

During fast forward (or rewind), press
and hold down the Forward Search (m)
(or Reverse Search [+r]) button. The
fast forward (or reverse) playback picture
is displayed on-screen.
If the desired scene is still rather far
from that point, release the Forward
Search (or Reverse Search) button to
return to Fast Forward (or Rewind)
mode, and repeat the operation.
When you finally find the desired scene,
press the STOP button ( w ) and then
the PLAY button (b) to start normal
playback.

Notes:
l The sound is off during these searches.
l During these searches, the picture on the LCD
monitor screen (and connected TV screen) become
monochrome and some picture noise appears. This
is not a malfunction.
